Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco

We begin our adventure on the famous Teleférico (cable car), one of the most spectacular ways to get around La Paz (luggage remains in our vehicle). Climbing into one of its cabins allows us to admire panoramic views of the city, nestled in a deep valley surrounded by the majestic Andes Mountains. The cable car is not only an efficient means of transportation, but also a tourist attraction that offers us a unique perspective of the urban geography of La Paz.
Arriving in the historic center we head to Plaza Murillo, the political heart of Bolivia. Here we find the Presidential Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Congress. Then our next destination is the famous Witches Market, a fascinating and mystical place where esoteric and traditional medicinal products are sold. Here we can find everything from amulets and talismans to herbs and potions used in rituals of the Andean culture. The vendors, known as “brujos” or “yatiris”, offer us a unique vision of the ancestral beliefs and practices that still endure in the daily life of the people of La Paz.
A few blocks away, the Rodriguez market awaits us with an explosion of colors and aromas. This market is famous for its great variety of fruits and fresh products of the region. Strolling through its aisles is a sensory experience, where we can taste exotic fruits such as tumbo and achachairú, and observe the commercial dynamics that give life to the market every day.
From the hustle and bustle of the city, we head to the impressive Moon Valley, located a few kilometers from La Paz. This fascinating landscape, formed by the erosion of the clay soil, looks like something out of another planet. The formations with their peaks and canyons create a surreal scenery that invites exploration and contemplation. Walking along its paths, we feel transported to an ancient and mysterious world, shaped by thousands of years of geological processes.
