VIPAC has been selected to join the Ayllu Verde pilot
The natural and cultural wealth of Cusco inspires us to continue building a way of traveling that values its heritage, strengthens the bond with its communities, and contributes to caring for the environment. Each experience represents an opportunity to contribute positively and advance together toward a more sustainable tourism.
Driven by this conviction, VIPAC has been selected, along with other companies in the sector, to participate in the Ayllu Verde tourism sector pilot, an initiative that promotes the circular economy as a tool to drive tourism sustainability in the Cusco region.
The project has the technical and financial support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), is implemented by UNESCO Peru and the Korean consulting agency PMC, and incorporates the participation of the World Bank, in alliance with the Regional Government of Cusco.
For VIPAC, this selection represents an opportunity to strengthen our sustainability approach through technical advice, guidance, and actions adapted to the reality of our operations.

A vision born from the territory
Ayllu Verde is inspired by the Andean concept of the ayllu: a living community based on reciprocity, mutual care, and a conscious relationship with the environment.
This perspective recognizes the value of bringing together knowledge, capabilities, and willpower to find solutions that respond to the real needs of each destination.
The initiative is taking place across 12 districts in the provinces of Cusco and Urubamba, where it seeks to strengthen waste management, boost its recovery and valorization, and promote circular economy practices that help preserve natural and cultural heritage.

From diagnosis to action
Our participation will be part of a 12-month process that will begin with an analysis of our current practices. This diagnosis will allow us to recognize our progress, identify areas for improvement, and, together with the UNESCO Peru advisory team, define viable and measurable actions that demonstrate our commitment to reducing our negative impact and maximizing our positive impact on the destination.
This guidance will cover aspects related to waste management; the responsible use of water, energy, and other resources; as well as our internal processes, purchasing decisions, supplier relations, and communication with our teams and travelers.
The actions will be tailored to VIPAC's characteristics and capabilities. Following their implementation, a follow-up will be conducted to measure progress, make adjustments, and generate learnings that contribute to strengthening our management.
The process will use the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) standards and criteria as a reference, guiding each stage under a specialized framework for the tourism sector.

A transformation that involves us all
Advancing toward a more sustainable and responsible tourism also means involving those who make each experience possible. Our teams, suppliers, partners, and travelers play an important role in this process.
Every journey can become an opportunity to understand the value of the place we visit and to make more conscious decisions. Reducing waste, using resources responsibly, and respecting the communities we visit are actions that, when added together, help protect the destination.
Thus, traveling not only allows us to discover a place but also to actively participate in its care.

A new step in our commitment
Being selected for the Ayllu Verde pilot reaffirms the path that VIPAC has been paving through initiatives focused on conservation, community engagement, and responsible tourism development.
Over the coming months, this support will allow us to turn opportunities for improvement into concrete actions, measure their results, and continue embedding sustainability into the way we operate.
We know that meaningful changes are built with consistency, learning, and collaboration. Being part of Ayllu Verde represents a new step in our ongoing effort to care for Cusco, its heritage, and the experiences born from it.
The future of tourism is also built upon our ability to work together and leave a positive footprint in every destination.
