  • Altitude : Arequipa sits at 2,300 m (7,550 ft), and Colca Canyon reaches over 4,900 m (16,000 ft) at the highest point. We recommend acclimatizing in Arequipa before heading to higher altitudes and consulting a doctor if you have heart or respiratory conditions.
  • Physical Condition : This experience involves walking on uneven terrain, light hikes, and early departures. A moderate level of physical fitness is required.
  • Weather : Temperatures vary drastically. Mornings in Colca Canyon can be below freezing, while Arequipa is mild during the day. Pack accordingly (see "What to Bring").
  • Connectivity : Expect limited or no phone signal and Wi-Fi in rural areas such as Chivay or Yanque.
  • Luggage : Bring a small bag for the Colca excursion. Larger suitcases may be stored in Arequipa if returning there.
  • Wildlife : Early mornings offer the best chance to spot Andean condors. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed but highly likely.
  • Travel Insurance : Strongly recommended for all participants.
  • Meals : Some meals are included. Please advise us in advance of any dietary restrictions or allergies.
